Chased the mechanic, Lugo, who races for his hometown in Peru for 37 km. I had the advantage of narrower tires and aero-bars for the descents. Staying in my big chainring as much as possible I was able to catch him as we climbed the last hill before entering the town of Chunchi, Ecuador. The Orbea held its own arriving first with the Bike-Dreams mechanic. Our competition was all in fun.
Scenery is improving, the bike is performing well, and I feel good. Life is good.
